Special Olympics Trinidad and Tobago (SOTT) will be staging its first Seaside Games for persons with intellectual disabilities on Sunday, at the Maracas Beach Facility. The Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC) became the latest organisation to adopt the Sport Integrity Global Alliance’s (SIGA’s) Universal Standards on Sunday, in a demonstration of CANOC’s commitment to upholding and implementing the highest standards across good governance, financial integrity and sports betting integrity. The decision was made on Sunday 23 October, at CANOC’s General Assembly, one day following the annual CANOC Workshop that addressed Governance, and which featured presentations by ICSS personnel, Emanuel Medeiros and Katie Simmonds

Former President of the Caribbean Association of National Olympic Committees (CANOC), Steve Stoute, has relinquished leadership of what he considers his baby, CANOC, after 17 years at the helm. On Sunday 24 October 2016 Stoute made good on his word given two years earlier when elected in his native Barbados, to step down after two-of the current four-year term.
